5.1 PAR file : Parameter List for protocol-specific Data Descriptions


 

The parameter list contains protocol- and process-specific description data that are needed for the simulation in the following protocols :

. IEC 60870-5-101 uses ASDU list and process data description
. IEC 60870-5-102 uses ASDU list
. IEC 60870-5-103 uses ASDU list
. IEC 60870-5-104 uses ASDU list and process data description

. IEC 62056-21       contains the text lists for OBIS value groups

. Siemens SINAUT ST1 uses TypeID assignment list
. Siemens SINAUT ST7 uses TypeID assignment list

. MODBUS serial needs a data model description for the process image

 


PAR file : ASDU list

 

 

The ASDU list is used for the plausibility of the received telegrams, both for recording as well as for the simulation. Telegram types, used in the project, have to be marked in the list and the respective permissible causes ( COT ) for this TypeID entered. Otherwise an error message is displayed when receiving the telegram ( E:TypeID, E:COT, ... ).

 


PAR file : Process data description

All process dependent data are available in a data base system of the control center computer. LIAN 98 offers the possibility to import these process data and use it for the simulation. Therefore it is necessary that the process computer can export station for station specific information out of its data base into a text file ( e.g. comma separated values ).

 

 

The following data must be available per data point :

. Information object address ( IOA )
. Type identification ( TypeID )
. State of information ( ON/ OFF ) for single and double point information
. State of command ( ON/ OFF ) for single and double point commands
. for the commands additional the information "select or execute" ( S/ E ) and the pulse duration.
. the description of the data point as text

The file should also include the ASDU address ( station address ) and the station name.

Import of data points :

When all above criteria are fulfilled and the structure of the file to be imported into LIAN 98 is known, the data can be imported now.

If the structure of the import data is unknown in the LIAN 98 software we will implement the necessary import module free of charge.

The process data description is organized line by line and can accommodate up to 5800 data rows, where each row is a data point.

 

 

Before importing, the old process data must be deleted by setting the field "number of data points = 0". Thereby the button in the toolbar is activated that opens the window "import process data points".

 

Import file

Path and name of the data file that should be used for importing. In order to select an import file also the button  can be used. .

In the data folder ( ..\lian98\par\ ) of LIAN 98 is the file "LIAN_EN_UW_HAG__.IEC" that contains the data point descriptions for importing. The data can be used for IEC 101 as well as IEC 104.

select format

. format 1 : Test data "LIAN_EN_UW_HAG__.IEC"
. format 2 : Reserved for further import module.
. format 3 : Reserved for further import module.

select direction

. Import all data points
. Import only data for control direction
. Import only data for monitoring direction

open import file

The import file is opened with the LIAN 98 NotePad in order to e.g. check the data points before importing it.

Parameter list

Path and name of the PAR file, where the process data will be imported. This setting can not be changed here.

finished

Cancel import procedure, thereby the import window is closed. 

If the file after deleting is not yet saved, the old data can be restored by closing the parameter list without overwriting the file.

import

Starts the importation

The import window is closed automatically after the successful import.

 

Edit data points :

After the import, the process data can also be edited. One or more data points can be deleted simultaneously or a sequence of lines copied.

In order to copy data points, first they must be read into the internal LIAN 98 clipboard. Therefore one or more data points must be marked and read into the intermediate area by clicking symbol "read line(s)". Afterwards a line has to be marked, from that the data should be stored sequentially by clicking the symbol "write line(s)".

Of course, particular entries in the columns can be changed also.

The user can store different parameter lists in different PAR files and use the lists when needed. In order to use one of this files for the simulation, it must be defined in the process configuration. ( see section <Channel configuration : Protocol specific settings> )

Inserts line(s) out of the clip board at the selected line into the data point list.

Reverses the last cut out.

 


PAR file : TypeID assignment list

 

Unfortunately the telegram type is not recognizable out of the ST1 / ST7 telegram. In the process system it is defined by station and Telegram number or the subscriber and the object number. In LIAN 98 an unambiguous TypeID ( type identification ) is defined for each telegram type in order to display the information ( indication, measurand ... ) in an easily readable plaintext and not only hexadecimal. With the help of the parameter list the correct typeID can be assigned to the telegram numbers of the stations or objects of individual subscribers.

One or more lines can be selected simultaneously, subsequent deleted or copied to a certain lines. In order to copy the data lines, they first must be read into the internal LIAN 98 clipboard. Therefore one or more lines must be marked and read into the intermediate area by clicking symbol "read line(s)". Afterwards a line has to be marked, from that the data should be stored sequentially by clicking the symbol "write line(s)".
