LIAN 98 can be installed on a PC into several user accounts simultaniously, whereat each user can manage his own data folder for LIAN 98 ( ...\[ user name ]\documents\lian98\ ).

. WinPcap driver will be installed automatically for "Everyone".
. WibuKey driver will be installed automatically for "Everyone".

. during installation of LIAN 98 Manual please mark "Everyone".

. during installation of LIAN 98 Software please mark "Just me".

Only the LIAN 98 Software has to be installed for each user separately !

If the auto-start function on your PC is activated, the following installation window will be opened after inserting the CD in the CD drive.

Select the required language and activate the single installation points in order.

When single installation points are activated, the following or a similar file download window opens.

Please confirm this window with "Run" in order to continue the installation. For the further course of the installation please follow the instructions on the screen.

Manually installation can be started as follows :

1. Capture Driver Setup - 4.0beta2-WinPcap.exe ( Windows 98 ) or WinPcap_4_1_2.exe
   The drivers used for network monitoring will be installed.
   
   4.0beta2-WinPcap.exe is only used for the operating system Windows 98 !
   WinPcap_4_1_2.exe is suitable for the operating systems Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7 !
   
   If an older version is already installed on your computer, it is required to de-install this version in any case. An older version of the driver, than included in this package ( 4.0 beta 2 or 4.1.1 ) causes that LIAN 98 cannot be started.
   This driver has to be installed in any cases, independent of using network capture or not !

2. WIBU-Key Driver Setup - WkRuntime.exe, version 6.00a
   
   version 5.20b is only used for the operating system Windows 98 !
   
   The drivers needed for the dongle operation will be installed.
   This driver must be also installed for DEMO mode !

3. LIAN 98 Software - setup.exe  The LIAN 98 Software will be installed.

4. LIAN 98 Manual - manual98en.msi  The manual to the LIAN 98 Software will be installed.

5. LIAN DOS Manual - manualDOSen.msi  The manual to the LIAN DOS Software will be installed. ( optional )

After the download of the corresponding zip-file lian98de.zip ( German variant ) or lian98en.zip ( English variant ) it has to be unzipped into a temporary folder of free choice. ( e.g. with WinZip into c:\temp ).

Open the file "install.html" in order to start the installation or install manually as follows.

The Software, the manuals and the drivers will be de-installed in Windows 98/ 98se, NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7 via the control panel ( menue iten "Software" ).

Via "add/ remove" the de-installation process is started and all files, icons and menu entries as well as the entries into the registration database are deleted.

When starting the LIAN 98 Software after the installation, only the demo mode is available. To use LIAN 98 without restriction, it is necessary to license it.

Proceed with it as follows :

Attach the supplied LPT dongle at the parallel-interface ( LPT1: or LPT2: ) or plug in the USB dongle into an USB slot of your computer.

Insert the License-Data-Disk into Drive A: or the supplied software CD into the CD drive of your computer.

Start program LIAN 98.

Click update license LIAN 98 in the menu item <help>.

Enter your firm-code noted at the License-Data-Disk into the license window, select the license file on the floppy or CD and push the OK button. The program LIAN is ended.

When calling up LIAN 98 again, the full version with all required functions is available.

If you don't have a LIAN 98 license data disk with dongle, only the demo mode is available.

The demo mode will give you a better understanding of the structure and the operation mode of the software. All functions of the licensed version are available for 20 days in the demo version. Transmission and receipt of telegrams are limited on 4 channels and up to a maximum of 20 telegrams for each program start. The test period will end 20 days after the first LIAN 98 activation.
